Mutant

A mutant is a new organism with a new genetic trait or traits that appears as a result of a gene mutation. In biology and especially in genetics, a mutant is a new organism with a new genetic trait or traits that appears as a result of a gene mutation. When a mutation occurs in one of the base pairs of the genetic sequence of an organism, it will result in the emergence of a new characteristic or characteristics that are not found in the original (wild) species.
