Altare della Patria

Altare della Patria is a national monument in honor of Victor Emmanuel II of Italy, the first king of unified Italy and considered the father of the Italian homeland. It is located in Rome between Piazza Venezia and the Capitoline Hill and was designed by Giuseppe Sacconi in 1885.
