Mystic Flow

Mt. Kenya is a holy mountain for my tribe, the Kikuyu people, and every 27th of December people make a pilgrimage to the mountain for a prayer walk where they stop 7 different times around the mountain to do a prayer. It was on the 27th when together with my partner and a small group of friends, we set off to hike the mountain. Our journey there was paved by people facing the mountain in prayer. It felt as if they were laying a carpet for us as we embarked on this ancestral journey to immerse ourselves in the mysteries of the mountain. Photographed on the slopes of Mt. Kenya in 2021.
