About me

My artistic journey began at an early age and progressed in different ways and through different mediums. In my practice, I work with paper and other ordinary materials and put them together to elicit a transformative experience. Experimentation is a big part of what I do. In working with different kinds of materials and pushing my limits, I've discovered that the interplay of light, movement and shadows adds mystery to the work. Currently, I am working on burnt paper art originals and installations. This extremely unique form of art explores the process of what happens when fire meets paper. Each piece is completely unique, created with ordinary materials and multiple layers of acid-free high-density paper cut/torn by hand and then burned with a blowtorch to give a range of effects from lightly toasted, to completely burned, from delicate thin lines to beautiful dark edges. Some pieces are created intuitively, while others are pre-designed.
